SF6 Gas Leakage Emergency Disposal Plan

 

 

When SF6 gas leakage is discovered, emergency measures should be taken immediately including evacuation of the site and full operation of all ventilation devices.

 

Within the first 15 minutes after the accident, no one is allowed to enter the room. After15 minutes, anyone entering the room must wear protective clothing, gloves, and a gas mask. Safety measures should still be taken during the cleaning of the site. If someone is by the leaked gas, they should be cleaned immediately and sent to the hospital for treatment.

 

When a large amount of SF6 gas leaks, emergency protection measures should be taken immediately reported to the company's leadership. If the operator is poisoned, they should be immediately evacuated from the site and transferred to a well-ventilated place for rest.SF6 gas leakage can cause poisoning symptoms such as eye pain, coughing, headache, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and dizziness.


Therefore, subst operators should receive safety education and related training, and first aid kits and supplies should be prepared, with a designated person responsible for regular inspection, supplement, or replacement.
In of the SF6 leakage phenomenon of GIS devices, it mainly shows as low SF6 gas pressure below the normal range, alarm of SF6 pressure reduction in the main control room and hissing sound on site, etc. For these phenomena, emergency disposal plans should be taken in time to ensure the safety of people, the power grid, and equipment.

1. During the rescue operation, the safety of the rescuers must be ensured. Anti-gas masks should be worn when entering dangerous areas, and the poisoned personnel should be from the source of poison.
2. After the accident, the 120 emergency telephone should be dialed immediately, and local medical institutions should be contacted for rescue.

3. Before entering the SF6 equipment room, the exhaust system must be turned on to ensure air circulation.
4. If the SF6 switch has a burst diaphrag accident, the power should be cut off immediately for handling and use gasoline or acetone for cleaning. The powder sprayed by the burst diaphragm should be cleaned with a vacuum or brush.
